Ann Worthing

About Ann Worthing

Ann Worthing was born and raised in Wharton, a small town on the coastal farming plains of south east Texas. She received her BFA from Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX, and her MFA from the University of Chicago. Though she is a long time Chicago resident, the Texas landscape remains a touchstone.

Ann showed with Aron Packer Gallery for over 20 years. She also had one person shows at the Chicago Cultural Center, North Shore Gallery and Judith Racht. Her other projects include a collaboration with composer Amos Gillespie for the Ten x Ten Series under the auspices of Spudnik Press, Access Contemporary Music and Homeroom Chicago. Additionally, she created a stop-animation movie for Susan Werner’s song “ The Worries of Patrick Lundqvist “.

From 2015 to 2018 Ann stepped away from her daily painting practice and ran the rehab of her living and studio spaces. In 2018 she moved into her new studio and returned to her practice. Her most recent public project was an installation “ Chromophilia “ for Art In Place ( Terrain Exhibitions, CNL Projects ) during the summer of 2020.
